Covid 19 UK: Sir Patrick Vallance predicts 'difficult winter ahead!

London: Coronavirus Latest: SIR Patrick Vallance has predicted a 'difficult winter ahead' as Coronavirus rates are expected to accelerate in the months ahead. 

The Government's Chief Scientific Adviser told Sky News that despite the increased vaccination rates and strengthened 'armoury', the United Kingdom can expect to face harsh conditions. 

Sir Patrick Vallance, who has helped guide ministers over the pandemic, said the UK is facing a “very uncertain time” ahead.

"We're a bit uncertain as to which direction the levels go at at the moment, so I think we've got a pretty difficult winter ahead of us," Sir Patrick told Sky News.

While the Government is resisting calls to implement Plan B now - relying on Plan A of booster jabs - Sir Patrick warned of acting too late.

He told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme: “You have to absolutely be prepared (for Plan B) and as soon as you start thinking 'am I, or am I not going to do this? It looks close' is the time you need to push beyond your natural reluctance to do it and push to do it.
