Beijing: Beijing said Thursday it opposed military ties between Washington and Taiwan, after President Tsai Ing-wen confirmed a small number of US troops are present on the island.
China firmly opposes any form of official exchanges and military contacts between the United States and China's Taiwan region, said the Chinese Foreign Ministry on Thursday.
Wang Wenbin, a spokesperson from the ministry, made the remarks when answering a question about the CNN reporting on Taiwan leader Tsai Ing-wen, who reportedly confirmed that "U.S. troops are training military on the island."
