The agreement between Iran and Russia on the supply of aircraft equipment: Iran to sign agreement on maintenance of Russian aircraft

MOSCOW: Russia and Iran have signed an agreement on the supply of Iranian equipment for aircraft and the provision of repair and maintenance services and technical support for Russian aircraft.

He noted that under the agreement, Iranian-made parts and equipment will be delivered to Russia, as well as repair, support and maintenance of Russian aircraft in the service centers of the Islamic Republic.

Iran signed an agreement on the export of parts and aircraft equipment to the Russian Federation, said Mirakbar Razavi, a representative of the civil aviation department of the republic (CAO).

According to the Mehr agency, the document establishes a mechanism for the supply of Iranian aircraft equipment and maintenance of Russian aircraft by Iranian centers.

The representative of the CAO specified that the parties signed a memorandum of understanding, according to which the number of passenger flights will increase to 35 per week.

At the end of May, the head of the Iranian Ministry of Industry and Trade, Reza Fatemi Amin, said that the Russian Federation and Iran were planning to introduce trade on the basis of barter. In particular, Tehran is interested in importing zinc, lead and alumina for the metallurgical and mining industries, while Moscow will receive car parts and gas turbines. Amin noted that the states had already agreed on the introduction of barter for the supply of certain goods, including Russian steel.

Since the end of February, Britain, the United States, the EU and other countries have imposed restrictions on the flights of Russian airlines. The European Union also banned the export to the Russian Federation of goods and technologies that are used in the aviation and space sectors, and also introduced a ban on insurance and maintenance of goods related to these industries.
