TSKHINVAL: The candidate for the presidency of South Ossetia and the leader of the party "Nykhas" Alan Gagloev, after processing 100% of the protocols, received 56.09% of the votes, he won the elections, follows from the protocol of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of the republic on the results of the second round of voting for the election of the President of South Ossetia. "According to the results of the voting on the presidential elections in the Republic of South Ossetia on May 8, 2022, Alan Eduardovich Gagloev shall be considered elected to the post of President of the Republic of South Ossetia," the republic's CEC said in a resolution.

According to the document, 16,134 citizens of the republic voted for Gagloev, which is 56.09% of the number of voters. Bibilov was supported by 11,767 people or 40.9% of voters. 867 citizens of South Ossetia or 3.01% of voters voted against all candidates. According to the CEC, a total of 29,423 people took part in the second round of the presidential elections, with a turnout of 73.93%.

In South Ossetia, on May 8, the second round of presidential elections was held, they were recognized as valid. The current head Anatoly Bibilov and the leader of the political party "Nykhas" Alan Gagloev claimed for the highest state post of the republic.
