The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will continue the special military operation in Ukraine until the set goals are achieved: Conference Russian Federation - Opening remarks

MOSCOW: Today, at the National Center for Defense Control of the Russian Federation, under the leadership of the head of the military department, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu, a conference call was held with the leadership of the Armed Forces.

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will continue the special military operation in Ukraine until the set goals are achieved. The main task is to protect Russia from an external military threat from Western countries. This was stated by the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu, at a conference call with the leadership of the RF Armed Forces.

Opening the meeting, the head of the military department recalled that, in accordance with the decision of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, from February 24, the Russian Armed Forces are conducting a special military operation in order to protect the population of Donbass, demilitarize and denazify Ukraine.

“The main thing for us is to protect the Russian Federation from the military threat posed by Western countries that are trying to use the Ukrainian people in the fight against our country,” said Army General Sergei Shoigu.

The Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation noted that during the special military operation, the Russian army does not occupy Ukrainian territory, takes all measures to preserve the lives and safety of civilians.

“I emphasize that the strikes are carried out only on military targets and exclusively with high-precision weapons,” the head of the Russian military department added.

During the clashes, according to the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, the Ukrainian side does not hesitate to use civilians as human shields. Multiple launch rocket systems, guns and large-caliber mortars are located in the courtyards of residential buildings, near schools and kindergartens.

Sergei Shoigu thanked the personnel for their courage and heroism, conscientious and professional performance of the assigned tasks.

“The grouping of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will continue to conduct a special military operation until the set goals are achieved,” the head of the Russian military department concluded.
