Florida county clerk's typo directed ticketed drivers to site selling Trump merchandise

FLORIDA: A typo on a flier explaining how to resolve traffic tickets in Miami accidentally led users to a website selling 2024 merchandise for Donald Trump.

The flier was supposed to direct people to the Miami-Dade County Clerk of Courts website, but the absence of a hyphen in the posted address sent users to Trump's merchandise site, a police spokesperson told the Miami Herald on Monday.

The fliers were handed out until last week before they were discontinued. The police spokesperson did not know how long they were in circulation.

The flier included the wrong address (miamidadeclerk.com), as well as a the right address (miami-dadeclerk.com) for county court's website, according to a photo of the flier posted published by the Herald.

The "miamidadeclerk" address redirects to a FindSale.com page selling Trump flags, books, hats and other merchandise.

The traffic ticket program rolled out as courts grappled with restrictions and health concerns from the COVID-19 pandemic, per the Herald.

The New York Times published an investigation over the weekend on the lucrative trade in Trump merch and events, and Trump's post-presidency profit from his brand.
