Moscow: At least four people were killed and five others injured as an L-410 aircraft made a hard landing in Russia 's Irkutsk Region on Sunday.
Two crew members and 14 passengers were on board when the incident happened, RIA Novosti news agency reported.
Rescuers are working at the site and a local hospital is ready to receive the injured.
The L-410 passenger aircraft, carrying 14 passengers and two crew members, made a hard landing in the taiga in the Irkutsk region, before reaching the landing strip 4 kilometers, Tengrinews.kz reports with reference to RIA Novosti.
According to the ministry, 4 people became victims of the accident. The regional government confirmed this information. According to preliminary data, three passengers and one crew member were killed.
The rescue operation involves about fifty people and 10 pieces of equipment. Victims from the island, on which the plane fell, are taken out by boats, on the shore people are met by teams of doctors and emergency workers. Most require a stretcher - they cannot move independently.
Several passengers are still trapped in the wreckage of the L-410 vessel, and work is underway to free people.
The regional governor promised that the families of the dead and injured will receive the necessary assistance.
