MOSCOW: The department noted that from 8:00 a.m., the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been shelling the meeting point of the IAEA mission in the area of the settlement of Vasilyevka and Zaporizhzhya NPP
A Ukrainian sabotage group of 60 people landed on the coast of the Kakhovka reservoir to attempt to seize the ZNPP. This was reported to journalists in the Russian Defense Ministry on Thursday.
"Today, at about 6:00 am, Ukrainian troops in two sabotage groups of up to 60 people in seven boats landed on the coast of the Kakhovka reservoir, three kilometers northeast of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant and attempted to seize the power plant," the military department said, adding that the Russian Armed Forces had taken measures to destroy the enemy, including with the use of aviation.
As specified in the Russian Ministry of Defense, also from 8:00 a.m., the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been shelling the meeting point of the IAEA mission in the area of the settlement of Vasilyevka and the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. In particular, four shells exploded at a distance of 400 m from the first power unit. "The provocation of the Kyiv regime is aimed at disrupting the arrival of the IAEA working group at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant," they stressed.
On Thursday morning, the IAEA mission left Zaporozhye in the direction of the Zaporizhzhya NPP. On Monday, TASS sources at the UN specified that it was through the territory controlled by Ukraine that the mission would enter the ZNPP.
