MOSCOW: Retreating Ukrainian nationalists hastily abandon weapons received from the West, according to a video released by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

The department noted that, according to the Russian military, among the captured weapons, American Javelin anti-tank missile systems and Swedish NLAWs, as well as German-made anti-tank mines, are most often found.

"From the interesting point is the Ukrainian automatic grenade launcher UAG-40. What I would like to note is that it differs from the Russian grenade launcher and the Soviet version by the NATO caliber. We also have a variant of the American Browning M2 heavy machine gun and ammunition for the Swedish grenade launcher with a caliber of 84 mm" Karl Gustav, "we have never seen anything like this," Maxim, head of the trophy weapons depot, said in the video.

Since February 24, Russia has been conducting a military special operation to denazify and demilitarize Ukraine. As Vladimir Putin stressed, its goal is "to protect people who have been subjected to bullying and genocide by the Kyiv regime for eight years." According to the Ministry of Defense, by the end of March, the Russian army had completed the main tasks of the first stage - it significantly reduced the combat potential of Ukraine. The main goal in the department was called the liberation of Donbass.

Against this backdrop, the United States and its NATO allies continue to pump weapons into Ukraine. President Joe Biden signed the lend-lease law, tens of billions of dollars are allocated for military assistance to Kyiv. Moscow, for its part, has repeatedly said that the supply of Western weapons only prolongs the conflict, and the transport of weapons becomes a legitimate target.
