Gryzlov announced a new meeting between Putin and Lukashenko in the near future

MINSK: Presidents of Russia and Belarus Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko will hold a new meeting in the near future. This was stated by Russian Ambassador to Minsk Boris Gryzlov during a reception on the occasion of the Day of Russia, organized on Monday by the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Belarus.

"Since the beginning of this year alone, five meetings of our presidents have taken place. Another one is planned in the near future," Belta quoted Gryzlov as saying.

Relations between Belarus and Russia are at the highest possible level, the ambassador stressed. "A lot of work is being done through parliaments, governments, ministries, departments and, of course, the peoples of our fraternal countries. We highly appreciate the support that our Belarusian friends give us," Gryzlov said. According to him, the countries are building relations on the unshakable principles of mutual respect and support, traditions of friendship and good neighborliness.

Putin and Lukashenka held talks for the last time on May 23 in Sochi at the Bocharov Ruchey residence. The official part of their meeting lasted almost five hours, after which the two leaders continued to communicate in an informal setting.
