BERLIN: The European Union continues to support Ukraine. The funds will be used to restore Ukraine’s economy and infrastructure, which were damaged by the war imposed by Russia.
The European Union and its Group of Seven partners have agreed to provide 9 billion euros in financial assistance to Ukraine. About it on the night of Tuesday, May 31, reported European Council President Charles Michel on Twitter.
“The European Council has decided to continue to assist Ukraine in meeting its current liquidity needs. The European Council stands ready to provide € 9 billion to Ukraine. Strong and concrete support for Ukraine’s reconstruction,” the statement said.
According to media reports, part of this assistance program will be provided in the form of grants, and part – in the form of soft loans.
