MOSCOW: The President of Russia signed decrees establishing payments in case of death or injury of persons sent to the DPR and LPR, as well as volunteers in the Donbass and the zone of the military operation in Ukraine: At least several dozen civilians were able to leave the territory of the Azovstal plant in Mariupol and adjacent houses over the weekend, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

Also over the weekend, it became known about the destruction of a hangar with American and European weapons and the destruction of the runway of an airfield near Odessa, sabotage in the Kursk region and a fire at a military facility near Belgorod, as well as new decrees by President Vladimir Putin, including additional measures to ensuring information security.

Operation progress

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on Saturday and Sunday announced a number of strikes on Ukrainian military facilities. In particular, according to Igor Konashenkov, official representative of the department, Russian military Onyx missiles destroyed a hangar near Odessa with weapons and ammunition from the United States and Europe, and also destroyed the runway.

In addition, the ministry spoke about the destruction of two Ukrainian S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems in the area of ​​​​Zaporozhye and Artemivsk (now called Bakhmut), two Su-24M bombers and a Su-25 attack aircraft, as well as a total of 32 drones, 18 of which were shot down on Saturday night.

Evacuation from Azovstal

On Sunday evening, the Russian Defense Ministry announced the evacuation of 80 civilians, including women and children, from the territory of the Azovstal plant, the last district of Mariupol held by the Ukrainian side. In the morning, the department said that on Saturday, almost 50 people were evacuated from houses near the enterprise.

At the same time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that about 100 civilians from the territory of Azovstal were sent to Zaporozhye. According to him, the evacuation will resume on Monday morning.

Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Irina Vereshchuk on Saturday also announced a new exchange of prisoners, as a result of which seven military and seven civilians returned to the country. There have been no reports of this from the Russian side.

The situation in the Kherson region

Since Saturday, Ukraine has disconnected the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions from mobile communications and the Internet, Oleg Kryuchkov, adviser to the head of Crimea on information policy, told Tass.

At the same time, power supply cannot be restored in Kiselevka and Shiroka Balka in the Kherson region due to the threat of shelling from the Ukrainian security forces. According to the head of the military-civilian administration of the region, Vladimir Saldo, due to the lack of communication, there is no exact data on the dead and injured, since it is impossible to even contact hospitals.
