According to Izvestia, the explosion took place in an ammunition depot. Details are being specified.

On March 23, Gladkov reported on a shell that had exploded in the region and was fired from the territory of Ukraine. Then three people were injured. Also, as a result of the explosion, one house was destroyed, 12 were damaged. The projectile also hit eight cars. An emergency regime was introduced in the villages of Zhuravlevka and Nekhoteevka.

After that, more than 170 residents of the settlements of the Belgorod region bordering Ukraine - Zhuravlevka and Nekhoteevka - were taken to a temporary accommodation center.

Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR) Alexander Bastrykin instructed to investigate the circumstances of the fall of a projectile launched from the territory of Ukraine in the Belgorod region.

Earlier, on February 27, it was reported that a shell exploded in the Kudinovka settlement of the Rostov region, 20 km from the border with the Lugansk People's Republic. The explosion occurred in the river, no one was hurt.

The day before, the FSB was told that three mines fired from Ukraine fell on Russian territory in the area of ​​​​the settlement of Nizhnekamyshinsky, Millerovsky district, Rostov region. It was noted that there were no damages and victims, an inspection is being carried out.

On February 25, the Russian Investigative Committee reported that at least 14 shells of the Ukrainian Armed Forces had hit the territory of the Rostov region. Shells destroyed the premises of the regional border control of the FSB of Russia. Based on these facts, criminal cases have been initiated.

In mid-February, due to the aggravation of the situation in the Donbass as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian military, the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics asked for recognition of their independence and announced the evacuation of the civilian population to Russia.

On February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a corresponding decree. On February 24, Russia launched a special operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass. As the press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov clarified, the special operation has two goals - the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine.
