JAVA: Mount Semeru today, Monday, December 20, 2021, erupted again. From the monitoring of the Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation (PVMBG), the eruption of Mount Semeru occurred at 05.56 WIB.
The height of the ash column was observed to be ± 1500 m above the peak. The eruption was recorded on a seismograph with a maximum amplitude of 11 mm and a duration of 433 seconds.
PVMBG is added, if the ash column is observed to be white to gray with moderate intensity to the southeast.
From the data available this morning, the activity of Mount Semeru was recorded:
There was one Hot Avalanche (APG) earthquake with an amplitude of 11 mm and an earthquake duration of 433 seconds.
Then there were 2 gusts of earthquakes with an amplitude of 3-4 mm, and an earthquake duration of 30-45 seconds. Meanwhile, there was 1 time of a Distant Tectonic earthquake with an amplitude of 10 mm, S-P 40 seconds and an earthquake duration of 70 seconds.
The earthquake caused by the Flood Vibration was recorded once with an amplitude of 15 mm, and the duration of the earthquake was 3840 seconds.
With this condition
Residents are expected to be more alert and careful with the presence of APG. The recommended no-activity zone around Mount Semeru is also being expanded
